In a book I recently read, "Limitless by Jim Kwik", I discovered that living in a dirty environment can actually negatively, affect your brain.
A clean environment is very important for your brain health. Did you know that dust can increase the risk of a stroke? There is a particle that is 2.5 microns in diameter that is associated with a 15% increased risk of a stroke. Clutter can cause anxiety and stress. When you are stressed, your brain has a buildup of cortisol that causes your brain not to function properly. Your home environment should be a place where your brain doesn't have to stress. Coming home to a neat and clean environment should be a must. Having recurring cleaning services that best fit your needs allows for this to happen and is most definitely worth it! Maintaining the cleanliness of your home in between scheduled cleans is the best way to ensure your home stays clean and tidy. There are many ways to do this that are not extremely time-consuming. Unfortunately, not everyone can pay for a house cleaning every day. But if your household is anything like mine, it requires some type of cleaning each day. One thing I have learned is that keeping the floors clean is one of the best ways to help keep dust and debris away. What we bring inside from the outside along with dust itself collecting in the home, is stirred up from the floor, and it lands on furniture, baseboards, cabinets, etc. Which is always an indicator that it is time for a deep clean. We can maintain the cleanliness of our homes by doing a few things each day.
I invested in two robot vacs and one of them is also a mop vac. I use them almost every day. Another thing I invested in for my floors is a cross wave. I use this floor cleaning tool to prevent the grout in my tile from turning black. Changing your mop water often while mopping is a way to prevent this from happening as well, but depending on how dirty your floors can get, makes this very time-consuming. You must sweep/vacuum the floor thoroughly and mop afterward. The cross-wave tool vacuums and mops at the same time which saves a lot of time. These floor cleaning tools are maintenance tools. They are not meant for homes that have not had a cleaning in a while. They can be damaged if not taken care of. I have had my cross-wave, robot vac/mop for 3-7 years and they still work great. I bought the additional robot vacuum/mop once my family moved into a larger home. Of course, wiping down our countertops when needed and keeping up with dishes, laundry, and clutter should be done in between paid cleanings. I use a multi-surface cleaning product for my countertops and cleaning wipes as well when needed. My kitchen counters, stovetop, and sink need to be wiped down every day (busy kitchen), depending on the use in certain areas of your home will determine the attention needed to keep clean as well. My favorite part about cleaning services is the things I do not have to do and leaves me with more time to do the things that do have to be done without being overwhelmed. My bathrooms, dusting, bed linens being changed, ceiling fans, blinds, baseboards, spot cleaning on my cabinets, etc, are always maintained because of recurring services. Depending on the amount of people in your home, pets, and traffic in and out will determine the recurring option that will better serve your cleanliness needs. Keeping our homes clean and tidy can be a never-ending chore that consumes much of our free time. If your life seems to revolve around mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting and changing bed linens, hiring a home cleaning service may be the solution.
Maid services, staffed by trained professional house cleaners, are available in a wide variety of options including:
Follow the steps below to ensure hiring a cleaning service goes smoothly. 1. Interview several cleaning services before choosing one. Before hiring a cleaning service, interview several companies or cleaning people. Ask for references and check them. After all, these people will be spending time in your home, and you must be comfortable with them. Trust is very important since the cleaning person or team will have access to your entire house. 2. Ask who will supply the cleaning equipment. It is common for your house cleaning person or team to arrive at your home equipped with all the necessary supplies for the job such as cleaning solvents, brushes, brooms and vacuums. In some cases, a cleaning service will request to use the homeowner’s supplies. If someone in your household has allergies, consult your cleaning service to discuss specific products that may be beneficial. 3. Designate areas to be cleaned. It’s a good idea to spend a few minutes to note which areas of your home will be included in your scheduled cleaning. If it is important to have different areas given special attention each time, make sure you find a cleaning service that accepts your requests and, prior to each visit, be sure to leave a list of problem areas. 4. Find out if there is a charge specific to your type of residence. The type of residence you own may affect your cleaning service visits. Keep the following in mind and plan accordingly:
Payment arrangements should be discussed before your first cleaning. The service might have an established system in place already. If not, decide if you want to pay after each visit, or on a monthly basis. Be very clear about what is included in the cleaning service prices, and what is expected.
